Friday 22nd May 2020

Hello Team Smart, it's Friday!

Maths:

Rapid recap:

“Length measures how tall something is, height measures how long something is”
Am I right?

Which is longer 10 centimetres or 10 metres?

Yesterday we solved some addition problems involving length and we were adding in centimetres. Today we are going to continue to be problems solvers using length!

As a warm-up can you answer the subtraction questions on the sheet Length – take it away! (READ THE QUESTIONS CAREFULLY!)

Then have a go at the measuring length challenge cards. Before you start – look at the powerpoint to remind you how to use a ruler.

You can choose the activities you would like to do – just have fun with length!

Remember:

mm stands for millimetres
cm stands for centimetres
and m stands for metres
There are 10 millimetres in a centimetre.
There are 100 centimetres in a metre.

I hope you enjoy creating your fact report all about Bog Babies.

Topic  Continued...

We have come to the end of our Animals and Us topic. I have loved seeing some of your work and I hope you have enjoyed doing it. The animal kingdom is very big and there is still lots to learn.

For today I would like you to complete as much of the Animals and Us Topic Quiz as possible. You can look back over the work you have done or do research on the internet, in encyclopaedias and books to find the answers if you are not sure. Your adults or siblings can work on it with you!

Just a suggestion, if you are in contact with other families, you could perhaps join forces and do the quiz over a Zoom chat together! Have fun!
