Topic: Trip to Quex

Ask me about Quex

Today, Team Amin went to Quex Park to explore the gardens and to listen to a talk by a plant expert at the Secret Garden Centre! We were able to collect and identify different trees’ leaves (including ash, birch, beech and holly), discovered Venus flytraps and orchids in greenhouses and even came back to school with a new pet plant – ‘Vera, the Aloe Vera’. Did you know that toilet paper is made from plants? Our trip also supplemented previous learning about animals’ diets, vertebrates and invertebrates, as we were able to explore some of the galleries in the Powell-Cotton Museum. We discussed and touched the skeletons of lots of creatures like rhinos, leopards, alligators and hornbills. What a fantastic day out for Team Amin!
