25/03: Home Learning

Good morning, Team Amin!

Tasks for the day:

PE: Tune into Joe Wicks’ workout this morning if you haven’t already and get your body active! Remember to find a safe space to do this and to have a water bottle ready!

M: Big surprise! Today, I am asking you to practise your short multiplication. Start with a speedy recap of your 3x and 6x. Then, practise your column multiplication. Ask your adult or go online for a reminder of the steps. Use a times tables list or grid to support you if you are unsure of your tables.

Don’t forget: we regroup our values BELOW like we do in class rather than at the top!

Example questions:

a) 38 X 2 =

b) ______ = 746 X 3

c) 193 X 4 =

d) _____ = 4010 X 6

e) _____ = 3215 X 7

W: Write a journal about your thoughts, feelings and experiences during your first few days learning at home. What are you doing to fill your time? How is life the same or different? Remember, this is a form of DIARY (Dear Diary, .... Yours/Love/From/Sign off). The purpose is to recount the important events in your day so it will be in 1st person (I, me, my...) and can be informal in tone. Don't forget your punctuation (full stops, commas, capital letters), spelling words can be checked with an adult/dictionary! You might like to continue with the journal over the coming weeks. We are currently LIVING a key moment in HISTORY and in ten, fifteen, fifty years’ time, you may want to relive your experiences/share them with someone important. I am writing one too!

T: Go onto BBC Bitesize and into KS2 Plants. Watch the next 3 videos about plants online. Don't forget to make more notes again! You will need them tomorrow! Check on any plants that you might be growing too! Don't worry, we have been watering ours at school! :)

Extra activities:

R: Access the GG Powerpoint and listen along to Groosham Grange and/or read a chapter of a book of your choice.

TT: Practise your 9 times tables. (Use Hit the button, chanting, TTRS etc., whiteboard)

Handwriting and dictation: Ask your adult to dictate this sentence to you. Write it out in your neatest cursive and take care with your spelliing: There are several beautiful flowers in their back garden.

Don't forget, Team Amin, you can also help around the house, help a sibling with their learning and go into the garden/for a walk with your adult for fresh air! Make sure you do get some fresh air in the day as it will help those brain cells work even more! Have a fabulous Wednesday. Happy learning and remember to keep smiling!

Any questions/things you would like to send me, drop me an email.

Miss Amin :)
