  • TTRS Battle!

    Published 30/03/23, by Joshua Cialis

Year 4 are currently in a TTRS battle against Yr 3. Every minute that you play gives us points towards our win!

As a class, we worked out that if everyone in the class plays 1 minute a day for the week long battle we will accrue 210 minutes towards our win! As well as that, it also helps you learn your multiplication tables!

So what are you waiting for, play now!

Today, we all designed our own group toothpastes. We thought about what would make an effective toothpaste.

Some children put fluoride in their toothpaste for stains, some didn't. Some added cleaning crystals.

All the groups then presented their ideas to Mrs Easton and I before we chose a winning design.

While learning about teeth this week, Team Cialis have been investigating the effect of different drinks on teeth. We put eggshells into different drinks.

We all predicted that coca-cola would be would have the biggest effect on the eggshells. However, the sugar-free squash had the biggest effect on the egg causing them to corrode. The cola caused the most staining.

Ask your child what they think caused the corrosion to the eggshell in orange squash.

  • Stop Frame Animations...

    Published 17/03/23, by Joshua Cialis

On Tuesday, we made Stop Frame animations using the app Stop Frame. We had rockets taking off, trains, and cars on ramps.

Some children then went home and made their own animations over the days that the school was closed. All of these animations worked really well!

If your child makes a stop frame animation at home. We would love to see it, send it to my school email, and we will watch it in class!

Today we began our topic ‘Food for Thought’. We started by looking at Harmen Steenwijk. He was a Dutch still-life artist active in the 1600’s. We explored and compared some of his paintings, discussing the items that appear in them. We then explored the skulls, jaws and teeth on the tables. We used pencils on white paper to draw an outline, then we used different shading techniques to make the drawing have depth.

  • Speaker Competition...

    Published 03/03/23, by Joshua Cialis

We have had so much fun during Oracy Week. As a conclusion to the week, Team Cialis held their class final to choose our class' entry for the Speaker Competition. All the children have put an amazing amount of effort in to planning, writing, and rehearsing their speeches. Our class final was great! It was great learning about so many passions and to hear the amazing speaking skills of so many children!

However, we could only choose one person to go forward into the KS2 final. Team Cialis' entry will be Dalia. Well done to Dalia but well done to all the entries it was so hard for us to choose an entry.
