Phonics Update
We're nearly at the end of another term of phonics. The children have really been working hard, trying their best during our phonic sessions and taking pride in their writing.
As we come to the end of the term, we will be assessing all the children's phonics knowledge; this will probably mean that we change around phonic groups for the New Year. We have lots of groups so we are able to teach smaller groups of children with a specific focus.
At this point in the year we would hope that all children would know all the single letter sounds - file attached for reference. The children should also be able to orally blend sounds together to make the word. E.g, if you were to say 'c-a-t', they are able to say 'cat'! We know this as 'Fred Talking'; video links below; the children love the Fred videos!
