Canterbury Cathedral.
Year 5 outdid themselves on a wonderful trip to Canterbury Cathedral.
Both Team Pressley and Team Dannell had an excellent time yesterday when we visited Britain's first Church. We impressed the team at Canterbury Cathedral with our prior knowledge of King Ethelbert and Queen Bertha as they took us on a tour of the Cathedral and led us on some fun activities.
We could not be prouder of how the year 5's have grown and the confidence in their own knowledge they exhibited throughout the day.
We got to try our hand at stone carving, colour our own stained-glass windows, use wooden blocks to build our own stable brides and dress up as we went on a costume trail of the cathedral itself. Group 3 were even lucky enough to witness some people praying and singing a hymn.
The two classes also got to translate their own names into ancient Runes and write up their own impressive certificates as well as embellish and engrave their own Caterbury Cross.
The trip was a huge success, and it was delightful to see the children enjoying themselves and representing RAPS so well.
Finally, a big thank you to our parent helpers. We hope you enjoyed the trip as much as we did. It wouldn't have been the same without you, and it couldn't have happened without your help.
Well done Year 5
