Canterbury Cathedral
On Monday, Team Pressley and Team Dannell had an excellent time when they visited Britain's first Church - Canterbury Cathedral.
They impressed the team at the Cathedral with their prior knowledge of King Ethelbert and Queen Bertha as they took us on a tour of the Cathedral and led us on some fun activities.
The children got to try stone carving, colour their own stained-glass windows, use wooden blocks to build their own stable bridges and dress up as they went on a costume trail of the cathedral itself. One group were lucky enough to witness people praying and singing hymns. The two classes also got to translate their own names into ancient Runes and write up their own impressive certificates as well as embellish and engrave their own Canterbury Cross. It was fascinating to hear all about the Anglo-Saxon parts of the Cathedral too.
The trip was a huge success, and it was delightful to see the children enjoying themselves and representing RAPS so well.
