Spellings Week 1
Please see below the spellings for Friday!
We are changing the spellings we send home this term! The children on RWI will continue with their sound per week with 4 additional statutory spellings, but everybody else's spellings are taken from the Statutory Spelling List outlined in the National Curriculum for Years 3 and 4, and re-covering some from the Years 1 and 2 list.
The children are expected to bring in their completed sheets by Friday morning. If the children fail to bring in the sheet and are not scoring more than 10/12, they will spend some of their golden time completing it. Please note - this is not a punishment! This is an intervention for children to help them learn how to spell, to ensure they do not create gaps in their learning and fall behind before starting a new spelling pattern the following week. If your child has brought in the completed sheet, they will not miss any golden time.
We understand it can be hard to fit in practising spellings at home, but spelling is such a crucial part of a child's development and we want to set them up for successful futures!
If your child has lost their sheet, please just copy them out on a piece of paper from the blog.
Any questions, please speak to Mrs Bennett or Mr Brun-Cialis on the door! :)
