Our topic this term is ‘Life as a Journey’. We chose insects and followed step-by-step instructions to create 3D dragonflies, spiders and beetles! We had so much fun cutting, colouring, sticking and being as creative as possible! We think they look great, come and take a look at our Art to Start display in the classroom!
We are going on a mini field trip!
In Maths, we learnt that ‘m’ stands for metres and then we used metre sticks to measure objects around the classroom. We measured the table, our heights, the carpet and the length and width of the classroom, as well as doors, whiteboards, and chairs. We recorded both the length and height of different objects on whiteboards. Some of us even measured items exactly using metres and centimetres! We discussed when we might choose to use metres and when we should choose to measure in centimetres. Well done, Year 2!

On Monday, the Crab Museum came into school to tell us all about a competition they are running to find the World's Funniest Crab Joke! We are also very excited that our KS2 JLT has been invited to judge the competition alongside Harry Hill, Phil Wang and Sally Phillips! The winner of the competition will be crowned on International Crab Day - Friday 26th April 2024. In the meantime, start submitting your best crab jokes via the link on their web page - Crab Joke Competition — Crab Museum!
