We had so much fun on Thursday at the Year 2 Fashion Show! Thank you, parents and carers, for coming to watch the children. They worked really hard on their creations and their walks at school and were so excited to share their learning with you! We hope you enjoyed yourselves too.

In September we will be making regular class visits to Newington Library. The children will have the opportunity to meet with the librarian, use library resources and borrow books to bring home and read. If your child already has a KCC library card, they can bring this along on their visit. If your child does not have a library card, you can either sign up for this at your local KCC library or you can fill in the attached and return to us before the end of term and we will pass this along to Newington Library.
he Reading Agency and libraries are excited to introduce the 2024 Summer Reading Challenge, Marvellous Makers! Children can visit the library to take part, or visit the Summer Reading Challenge website to take part digitally. The Summer Reading Challenge runs in Kent from Saturday 6 July to Saturday 7 September and aims to keep children reading over the summer. We will hold a special assembly to celebrate the participants when we return to school in September. Water Fight Day!
We have been designing our outfits for the fashion show next Thursday the 11th of July! We are so excited to become fashion designers tomorrow and start producing our creations!

We were joined by Team Pressley today for shared reading! We love seeing our friends in KS2 and today, we shared our favourite stories with them and even the stories we wrote! WOW!
Today we were visited by Chris from Kent Music.
Chris performed lots of songs we recognised and demonstrated how to play the guitar. Chris has lots of slots available next year from September for guitar and drum lessons. We have loved writing our Fly Eagle Fly narratives in English over the past few lessons and have finally finished! Today, we finally illustrated our story and shared our writing with our friends by reading in the dark! What fun and what incredible writing in Year 2!
For our topic "What We Wear" we are holding a Year 2 Fashion show on Thursday 11th July in the afternoon (parents welcome and more information to follow). We are very excited and cannot wait for such an exciting event!
