Personal Development - Rule of Law

Today we discussed the Rule of Law and how we use it in this country. We were debating what new law we would bring in if we were the Prime Minister.

As a class, we were very interested in the process of what happens after committing a crime, such as going to court, and what happens within a court room.

We watched some examples of what happened in court (such as horrible history or kids court) and did some drama to act out a courtroom, with a judge, witnesses, the defendant and the jury.

We had to listen to both sides of the argument, take into consideration what the witnesses said or any evidence we were given, and came up with a verdict and a reasonable punishment, if any!

We loved doing this and now have a great understanding of what happens in the UK when somebody commits a crime.
