Information about a TTRS Competition happening next week!
Come read with me this term will be on Friday 26th January at 14:40.
We hope to see you there!
Please see below a copy of the text that has been sent out regarding stone age day!
Some notes for the term ahead!
Today we learnt about what shadows are and what happens to a shadow when a light source moves. We now know that shadows are formed when an opaque, solid object blocks the source of light, leaving an absence of light behind the object.
To explore different types of shadows, we used a range of opaque, transparent, and translucent objects to create in our classroom. We created faint shadows and dark shadows, and even managed to create shadows of ourselves.
Please see below key dates for the next couple of weeks!

We ask that the children bring in their completed spelling sheets in on Friday morning at the latest.
Children that do not bring in the sheet will spend part of their golden time completing it.
If you have lost your sheet, please ask for another before Friday! Alternatively, practise on a piece of paper at home and bring that to show us! :)
Apart from our common exception words, all our spellings this week are homophones (words that sound the same but are spelt differently/have different meanings).

We started our new topic of ‘Light’ and on Monday, we opened it with our Art to Start! We talked about the Northern Lights, also known as the ‘aurora borealis’, which is a natural light display that happens in Earth’s sky. We looked at some incredible pictures and videos of the lights in action, discussing the colours and patterns we could see, before having a go at creating our own Northern Lights picture using chalk and oil pastels! Holding our chalk and pastels in different ways, we made marks on our paper, smudging here and there, to create some incredible light formations in our night sky! Have a look at our wonderful artwork on display inside our classroom!
Apologies for the delay, here are the spellings for this week.
